Dr. LaQuita Frederick

Georgetown University
Prior to launching her career in academia Dr. Frederick earned a name for herself as a sports marketing and event management professional in both collegiate and professional sports. She spent well over a decade working with organizations including North Carolina State University, The Ohio State University, the Orlando Magic, and the Atlanta Braves. Before accepting her post at Georgetown University's School of Conituing Studies, Dr. Frederick was Director of Sport Management at Saint Peter's University and a Professor of Sport Management at St. John's University. Some of Dr. Frederick's career highlights include numerous NBA drafts and playoff events, the WNBA's first ever Pre-Draft Camp, and a number of NCAA playoff tournaments (men's and women's basketball, men's and women's soccer). Dr. Frederick holds a PhD in Sport Leadership and Management from the United States Sports Academy. She earned her M.A. in Sport Management from The Ohio State University, and a B.A. in communication and English from North Carolina State University. Dr. Frederick is an alumna of the NCAA Dr. Charles Whitcomb Leadership Institute, the NCAA/Women Leaders Institute for Administrative Advancement, and the NCAA/Women Leaders in College Sports Leadership Enhancement Institute.
